John Buckley is a 30 year technology executive with a laser focus on shaping the strategic vision to achieve business goals, fostering executive relationships and assembling superior results driven teams that deliver ridiculous ROI and operational improvement for North American E&P companies. Prior to founding Blue River Analytics, John was a Senior Sales Executive at Tibco Spotfire, where he sold data visualization solutions into the energy vertical. John has also held various positions at QlikTech, SAP, Oracle, Stellent, PeopleSoft and JD Edwards. John earned an MBA in Operations Management from Regis University and a Bachelor of Science/Business Administration degree in Information Systems from The University of Colorado – Denver. John is responsible for all facets of the company’s operations and business development strategy.
Co-founder |Chief Technology Officer
As the Chief Technology Officer for Blue River Analytics, Mindy oversees all professional and consulting services as well as all Spotfire template creation and design. Prior to founding Blue River Analytics, Mindy was a Senior Spotfire Solutions Architect for Forest Oil Corporation. Mindy has over four years in the oil and gas industry and started her career in reservoir engineering before switching over to IT. While at Forest she took Spotfire from a departmental tool to a corporate analytics platform, and developed applications for users in Reservoir Engineering, Geology, Production Engineering and Drilling. Most of her current work includes data discovery and predictive analytics for cost and production data. Mindy holds degrees from the University of Denver in biology, chemistry & statistics as well as a Masters of Computer Information Systems degree with concentrations in Business Intelligence and Database Management from Boston University.
Manager Training & Development
Prior to joining the Blue River Analytics team, Courtney was a Client Success Lead for TriZetto, A Cognizant Company. There she honed her account and project management skills by working with healthcare clients on software implementations, process improvement and release/problem management. Prior to TriZetto, Courtney worked at IQNavigator, a workforce management SAAS company, as a Solutions Delivery Consultant. In this role she provided hands-on consultation, troubleshooting and implementation of best-practice solutions to multiple clients. She is excited to break into the oil and gas industry and begin consulting on Spotfire projects. She holds a degree in Psychology and Economics & Organizational Management from Agnes Scott College.
Data Scientist Contractor
Marko is a Chief Data Scientist with Blue River Analytics and Petroleum Engineering Specialist with Saudi Aramco. Formerly, Marko was a Sr. Reservoir Adviser with Halliburton, mainly working in the areas of reservoir characterization, production optimization, Digital Oil Field, data mining and predictive analytics, assisted history matching, uncertainty quantification, and subsurface imaging. Prior to Halliburton, he was research geophysicist with Shell International E&P, principally responsible for development of Bayesian methods for dynamic data integration with uncertainty. Before joining the oil industry, he worked internationally in the areas of nuclear engineering, nuclear geophysics, nuclear instrumentation development, simulations of radiation transport and applied mathematics. Marko has authored 70+ peer-reviewed journal papers, technical papers and book chapters and is inventor on 21 patents and patent applications. He holds a PhD and MSc in Nuclear Engineering and a BSc in Electrical Engineering. Marko is an active member of SPE and SEG.
Trainer and Analytics Contractor
Kyle LaMotta has over 7 years of E&P experience, previously working at Hess Corporation in Production, Operations, and Facilities Engineering positions for both Onshore and Offshore assets. He specializes in Spotfire project development and industry-specific training. Kyle frequently publishes oil & gas specific Spotfire resources for his company Data Fuel on his website. Kyle has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas Tech University and is earning an MBA from the University of Houston.
Geologist & Analytics Contractor
Prior to joining Blue River Analytics, Jack had six years of oil and gas experience as a Geo Analyst with Pioneer Natural Resources. He has worked on teams such as Business Development, Permian, Raton, and Western Panhandle. Jack specializes in geologic data interpretation and display using tools such as Spotfire, ArcGIS, Petra, Geocortex, Access, and others. His project experience includes advanced down hole data interpretation and display, new play discovery, identifying missed production opportunities, and environmental water well compliancies. Jack also has cross discipline experience participating in projects such as down spacing and infill drilling, reserves add, and historic production evaluation. Jacks experience translates well into the Blue River team to create customized templates specific to geologic data and implementing platforms to solve spatial puzzles.
Jack graduated with a degree in Geology with an emphasis in GIS at Northern Arizona University in 2009.
Production Engineer & Analytics Contractor
After graduating from the University of Oklahoma, Abby went to work for Chesapeake Energy in Shreveport, Louisiana as a field engineer in the Haynesville shale. Working in the field allowed exposure to drilling, completions, and production operations while working on drilling rigs, snubbing units, coil tubing units, frac jobs, and slickline and wireline units. After her field rotation, she moved to Oklahoma City as a production engineer. Within that role, she worked several different assets including conventional wells in the Eastern US, exploration projects, and finally the Utica shale. In the fall of 2014, she left Chesapeake Energy to join Antero Resources in Denver, CO. For the last year, she has been working as a production engineer for their Marcellus and Utica shale assets. Her recent work includes planning for artificial lift and modeling liquid loading, maintaining base production, evaluating downtime and LOE, and studying the effects of frac hit on producing wells.
